Yukon youth spend over half of their day in school, making it an important place to develop lifelong habits of physical activity. Children who are active at school are more likely to remain active in their teens and as adults. Being active leads to academic, social and emotional benefits.

Cycle Smart Program

Every spring, RPAY takes its Cycle Smart Program throughout the Yukon. Cycle Smart teaches bike safety and maintenance skills through hands-on programs.

"A lot more students have been riding their bikes to school."

"Our Grade 1 student is now riding her bike around Burwash without training wheels!"

Active Play Experience Program

Recess is an important time for physical activity and socialization. RPAY's APE (Active Play Experience) program helps schools create positive recess environments that contribute to successful learning.

"The younger students came to find us at recess when we weren't outside so we would come play with them, it made me realize they like playing with us."
