Nordic Walking Leader Training
October 15th, Whitehorse

Did you know that Nordic Walking activates 90% of the body’s muscles, burns up to 46% more calories than regular walking and increases aerobic effect by up to 25% compared to regular walking?

This low impact activity also decreases load and strain on the lower body, tones upper arms, shoulders and back muscles and develops core stability and strength.

These benefits are achieved through the use of specially designed poles and a properly learned and performed Nordic Walking technique, where the poles are used as a resistance tool to engage the upper body and can done anywhere you would normally walk.

Yukon communities such as Tagish, Faro and Ross River enjoyed Nordic Walking last year through RPAY’s RHEAL Leader program, thanks to trained local leaders.
