The Winter Active for Life (WAFL) promotes, introduces and encourages Yukoners of all ages to be physically active outdoors during long winter months when patterns of inactivity are most prevalent, and in activities that require minimal infrastructure and can be done over the lifespan.
The WAFL Equipment Library offers rural Yukon communities cross country ski equipment, snowshoes and kick sleds on loan to support opportunities to be winter active.
The WAFL Equipment Library makes it easy for rural and First Nation communities to borrow cross country ski and snowshoe equipment free of charge for the season. Instead of a library card, all you need is an RPAY Community/Associate membership.
Kick sleds are a fun way to enjoy winter and 22 have found a home in the WAFL Library. RPAY community/associate members can borrow kicksleds for a community event or program. Up to 2 kicksleds can be borrowed for up to a 2-week timeframe during the winter.
The WAFL Programmer encourages and supports program development in rural and First Nations communities through schools and community groups. Click here to contact her about any of your WAFL questions or needs.
