RPAY Takes on Rendezvous 2025
Miss Active for Life: My Rendezvous Journey as Second Princess
Running as a Rendezvous Queen candidate was never something I pictured myself doing — but looking back, I’m so glad I took the leap. When I first signed up to represent the Recreation and Parks Association of The Yukon (RPAY) as “Miss Active for Life”, I knew it would be a unique way to promote the importance of recreation, healthy living, and community connection. What I didn’t expect was how much this experience would challenge me, uplift me, and remind me of the power of community spirit.
From the moment I put on my sash, I knew this was bigger than just me. RPAY’s mission is all about making recreation accessible for everyone and helping people stay active for life, regardless of age or ability. Being part of the Quest for The Crown gave me an incredible platform to share those values with the community in a fun and engaging way. Whether it was attending events, meeting new people, or speaking about RPAY’s work, I felt like I was truly representing what being active and connected is all about.
Placing Second Princess was such an honour, but the crown was never really the goal. The true reward was the opportunity to promote active living, connect with people, and hopefully inspire others to get involved in recreation in whatever way speaks to them. I’m so grateful to RPAY for supporting me every step of the way, and to everyone who cheered me on throughout Rendezvous.
Thank you to the Recreation and Parks Association of The Yukon for trusting me to represent them, and to the Rendezvous Society for giving me this incredible opportunity. Here’s to staying active for life — with or without a crown!
